The innovation of hunting strategies has increased dramatically over the years. Technology has advanced through the years, and has helped the everyday hunter significantly. Everything from weapons and camo, to calls and cover scents. Today, however, we want to focus on one of the most vital tools in every hunters arsenal. That tool would be the ability to disappear from the elusive game that we are hunting. I know what most of you are thinking, “Camouflage”. While you may be correct in most cases, today you are wrong. Today we are talking about the many styles of hunting stands, and blinds. If used in the proper manner, stands, and/or blinds, can be just the advantage we need to achieve our goal.
The history of the “deer stand” dates back centuries to a time where hunters relied heavily on ambush tactics. Tree stands/blinds, started off so simple in the early days. Hunters simply climbed a tree, or covered themselves in brush on the ground. I cant speak for everyone, but i can not begin to count the times I’ve been in the woods and found signs of early hunters. Numerous times i have found trees with railroad spikes in them that lead to a fork in the tree, or an old ragged board. Also, I’ve found old wooden stands built in to trees way off the beaten path. (Tip: If an old settler put in the time and effort to carry supplies by hand deep into the woods to build a permanent stand, chances are there is a reason. I never pass up an opportunity to hunt that area). With today’s technology, a board in a tree, is a tool of the past. As we all know, with today’s manufacturers, the options are limitless. Several of today’s most popular stands are: Hang-on Stands, Ladder Stands, Climbing Stands, Pop-up Blinds, and Box/Tower Blinds. Now, lets give a few details on each style of stand/blind that different hunters use today!!!
These are a few of the styles of blinds/stands we use here at Pure Instinct Hunting. They are a great tool to help us bag that “Trophy of a Lifetime”. Do your research, and find the best fit for you. Whether you are going to be in a blind, or in a tree, COMFORTABILITY is key. Find what suits you, and go with it.
