If you have ever fished with a bait cast reel you have probably experienced backlash at one time or another.
This happens when casting into the wind, or around obstacles out of your casting range and possibly by encountering snags. Too much line gets backed up in the reel, causing what’s called a bird’s nest, or a snarl of line. It can be frustrating, and definitely takes time from valuable fishing hours.
In this video, Nick the Informative Fisherman shows us all how to avoid backlash, and fix the problem, should we encounter it. You will also get some great insight on how to properly adjust your reel for each different lure you will use. These simple tips will help you have a better angling experience.
