In today’s world, technology plays a huge role in the hunting industry. There are trail cameras that text your smart phone pictures and video, digital range finders, thermal optics and even drones being used for scouting. One thing I’m super pleased with is the lighted nocks for bowhunters.
I use the nockturnals by Rage lighted nocks. They come in a wide variety of colors such as red, green, blue, pink and yellow. I’ve used every color they make, I’m pleased with them all but don’t recommend the yellow. They all perform well but yellow just doesn’t seem as bright. My favorite color I use, believe it or not is the pink lighted nock. It tends to be the brightest color and looks like a real bright red.
Be aware that a Nockturnal weighs about 20 grains. They are a little heavier than your typical nock. Be sure to practice with them if you plan to hunt with them.
The main reason I like the lighted nocks are simple. It makes for great arrow flight path especially if your filming your hunt. It will eliminate looking for your arrow after a shot. Even if you harvest an animal without a pass through, your recovery can be easier.
In closing, I’d like to say that although they are a bit expensive, I hunt with them every time where it is legal to do so. They are worth the price for what they give in return. I highly recommend the Rage Nockturnal lighted nocks over any other brand.
