Preparing your venison deer meat for freezer storage is not that hard to accomplish and relatively inexpensive process to perform. All it takes is a few simple steps, and you’ll be on your way to getting that freezer filled with tasty organic meat.
The key is keeping air out of the butcher paper. Too much air trapped between the paper and the deer meat can cause freezer burn, which leads to meat spoilage. There’s nothing worse than having to throw out a prime cut that’s been hit by freezer burn.
Make sure you label your packages, in order to identify the deer meat for future use. This means using a permanent marker to write the date and what cut it is on the outside of the paper.
