It is not very often you see a bobcat while deer hunting. It is even more rare to see a bobcat stalking a deer you are watching.
In this video my good friend Chris Clark was deer hunting in South Texas while this wild encounter happened. At first light a young buck walks out and appears very nervous. My friend was thinking the young buck was nervous that a mature buck might step out so he was filming and prepared for a good hunt.
As the buck gets under the feeder and begins to eat some corn all of a sudden he bolts, That is when you see the bobcat close the distance in a hurry on this deer. The bobcat has second thoughts and runs past the deer, I’m assuming he sized the buck up and figured he did not want to fight a hard horned buck for a meal.
Just when you think it’s over the bobcat comes back out of the brush to test the deer again. The young buck holds his ground and runs the bobcat off.
What a great encounter to witness while hunting, check out the full video below.
